Our pride

Matthew Anim Cudjoe
At Great Somas Academy, we are dedicated to nurturing young talent and fostering the growth of future football stars. Matthew Anim-Cudjoe’s inspiring journey is a testament to our commitment to excellence in player development.

Matthew Anim-Cudjoe’s journey to football stardom began with a standout performance at the BabyJet U.16 African Championship in 2018, where he was recognized as the top player in the tournament’s inaugural edition.
Following his success, he embarked on a scouting program in Bologna, Italy, where he impressed coaches with his exceptional skills, earning recognition for his potential to achieve greatness.

In February 2019, Bayern Munich extended an invitation for trials, providing Matthew with a valuable opportunity to showcase his talent on a global stage. Despite his outstanding performance during the trials, his age prevented him from securing a contract with the prestigious club.
Subsequently, Matthew signed with Young Apostles, a club owned by Mr. Samuel Anim Addo, the President of Great Somas. After a brief stint with Young Apostles, he moved to Asante Kotoko on loan, where he made a significant impact, notably as a game-changer in the Ghana Classico against Hearts of Oak.
Following the disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, Matthew joined Legon Cities on loan before returning to Young Apostles on his way to joining Dundee United in 2021.
During his time with Kotoko, Matthew celebrated victory in the President’s Cup, endearing himself once again to the fans in Kumasi with his outstanding performances, particularly in matches against Hearts of Oak.
